Kurnool Road Accident: A major road accident has occurred on the Bengaluru-Hyderabad highway in Andhra Pradesh. In the early hours of Friday, a bus and a bike collided in Chinnatekpur area of ​​Kallur in Kurnool district, due to which the bus caught fire. The accident was so terrible that 12 passengers sitting in the bus died. The bus was completely burnt within minutes of the collision. Police said that a total of 40 people were traveling in the bus at the time of the accident. Other people have been admitted to the hospital.

A private bus bound for Hyderabad caught fire after colliding with a two-wheeler near Chinnatekur in this district on Friday, killing 12 people, a police official said. A bike rider is also included among the dead. According to initial reports, there were around 40 people on board the bus. About 19 passengers, two children and two drivers narrowly escaped this accident.

Kurnool Range DIG Koya Praveen said that when the motorcycle collided with the bus, the bus was dragged down due to its fuel cap being open, which led to the fire. Due to short circuit, the door of the bus got jammed and within a few minutes the bus was completely burnt to ashes. Police further said that most of the people were in the age group of 25 to 35 years.

Investigation into the accident continues

Police have sealed the incident site and started investigating the accident. In the initial investigation, it is suspected that the bus driver was driving at high speed and due to rain he could not see the bike coming from the front. At present nothing has been made clear. Police have taken the additional driver into custody. Further investigation is ongoing.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu expressed grief over the accident. He posted on X and wrote, I am deeply shocked to know about the horrific bus fire accident that took place near Chinna Tekur village in Kurnool district. My condolences are with the families who have lost their loved ones. Government officials will provide all possible assistance to the injured and affected families.
