Bihar Election: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said in Patna on Thursday that if INDIA Bloc government is formed in Bihar, it will re-implement the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) on the lines of its state.
Bihar Election: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said in Patna on Thursday that if the INDIA bloc government is formed in Bihar, it will re-implement the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) on the lines of his state. Talking to journalists here, Sukhu said that there is no sign of development in the 20 years of NDA rule in Bihar. This is clear from the fact that 64 percent people in Bihar live on Rs 66 per day. He stressed that there is a need for good change in the state. Said that Bihar, which could have emerged as a major tourism hub, has been left in a dismal state by the NDA government. Sukhu said that in the first cabinet meeting of his government, OPS was restored in Himachal Pradesh, resulting in a ten-fold increase in the pension amount for state employees. He claimed that about 1.36 lakh government employees have got the benefit of this scheme.
Enumerated the achievements of Himachal government
The Chief Minister clarified that this step was taken as part of Rahul Gandhi’s commitment to fulfill the promises of the Congress and not for political gains before the elections. He also accused the NDA government in Bihar of distributing Rs 10,000 to women to gain political mileage ahead of the assembly elections. Highlighting the welfare initiatives of his government, Sukhu said that Himachal Pradesh has ensured unprecedented MSP on milk. Making a comparison, he claimed that the per capita income of Bihar is Rs 87,000, while in Himachal Pradesh it is Rs 2.57 lakh. Sukhu claimed that the quality of education in Himachal Pradesh has improved significantly since Congress came to power.
Promise to promote self-employment and higher education
He said that when BJP was in power till 2022, Himachal Pradesh was at 21st position, but today after our new education policy, we have reached fifth position according to ASER. He further said that the ideology, thinking and work of Congress is focused on changing the lifestyle of the people. Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister said that if Congress government is formed in Bihar, it will promote self-employment and higher education. Apart from this, it will provide free health treatment worth Rs 25 lakh to the citizens and Rs 2,500 to women, widows, elderly and disabled. When asked about the absence of any Muslim face as the block’s Deputy Chief Minister candidate, Sukhu said that the entire country is the vote bank of the Congress. It was Congress that fought for independence and gave freedom of speech and expression to the people. There is a Congress voter hidden within every person in India.
