Earthquake Warning: Javed Malik, geologist Professor of IIT Kanpur, informed that the root cause of the kind of earthquake that occurred in Myanmar is Sagaiing Fault.
Earthquake Warning: More than 1700 people lost their lives after an earthquake of 7.7 intensity of 7.7 on Friday (March 28) in Myanmar. After which, earthquake tremors were felt several times in Myanmar, Thailand, Tonga several times one after the other. The tremors of Friday’s earthquake were also felt in the north eastern parts of India such as Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland. Meanwhile, scientists of IIT Kanpur have also issued a warning regarding earthquake in India.
What about Myanmar’s earthquake?
Javed Malik, a geologist of IIT Kanpur, informed that the root cause of the kind of earthquake that occurred in Myanmar is Sagiing Fault. It is very active, so it is considered very dangerous. This fault can be checked easily through internet mapping.
Ganga-Bengal fault is present in Siliguri
There is a Ganga-Bengal fault in Siliguri, West Bengal, on the other side there is a sagaiing fault in Myanmar. There are also many other faultline between these two. In such a situation, it cannot be denied that if the saging fault is activated, then the Ganga-Bengal Fault can also be active due to this. Due to which a dangerous earthquake like Myanmar can also occur in India.
Sagiing fault is part of which sabdaksh zone
According to Professor Javed, the Sagiing Fault is not new. The northeast of its northeast is a part of the subduction zone from Arakan to Andaman and Sumatra. Till this place, Sagiing Fault can be seen above the ground. Along with this, according to whatever research has been done by European and Japanese scientists on Sagiing Fault, the possibility of earthquake after 150 to 200 years is strong.
