LUCKNOW: 20 days after the conclusion of Prayagraj Mahakumbh, foreign Parinde is still registering his presence on the Sangam coast. Whereas these birds used to leave the Sangam and surrounding area by the last of February. Bird scientists are also surprised to see the presence of birds till March. Spartaners believe that this confluence is a symbol of purity of water.

Earlier, they used to leave the area till the last week of February

Biological scientists doing research on the interrelations of aquatic life and birds, Prof. Sandeep Malhotra says that these foreign birds of the Laras Redibondus species accumulate on Sangam land every year from cold countries like Russia, Siberia and Poland every year, which remain here till the last week of February. These foreign birds coming from across the seven seas for food and breeding are considered good detectors of pollution. These birds living in pollution free water can breathe in pollution -free air.

After the time of 15 days from the last week of February, their large number of presence is indicating that the water and air of Sangam have a favorable situation since December. The same thing was also revealed in the report of UP Pollution Control Board. The presence of dolphins in the Ganges river and their growing population is also being linked to the pollution of the Ganges river.

World Wildlife Day 3 March 2025 According to the report released by the Ministry of Environment, there are 6,324 dolphins in the Ganges and three dolphins in the Indus River. Prior to this, the mainstream of Ganga before 2021 had an average of 3,275 dolphins. Most of which were also found in UP. The increasing population of Ganges dolphin in the Ganges river between Fatehpur, Prayagraj to Patna is also a clear indication of the quality of Ganga water. Due to this, the report of bird scientists is being stamped.
