Prachand Helicopter: The government has already placed the biggest order of 83 Light Combat Aircraft Tejas to promote self -reliance in the defense sector.
Prachand Helicopter: In order to increase the strength of the Indian Army, the Central Government has approved the purchase of ‘Made in India’ Light Combat helicopter Prachanda. In the meeting of Cabinet Committee on Security, this deal of Rs 62,700 crore was approved. Under this deal, 66 helicopters will be available to the Indian Air Force and 90 helicopters to the Indian Army.
According to the Ministry of Defense, defense contracts worth more than Rs 2.09 lakh crore have been signed in this financial year. The deal is considered to be the biggest order for Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) so far. Helicopters will be manufactured at HAL plants in Bengaluru and Tumkur in Karnataka.
‘Huge’ key specialty
‘Prachanda’ is the only attack helicopter in the world, which is capable of flying even at a height of 16,400 feet. It is specially designed to deploy inaccessible areas with height in height like Siachen, Ladakh and Arunachal Pradesh.

To promote self -reliance in the defense sector, the government has already placed the biggest order of 83 Light Combat Aircraft Tejas. The process of ordering 97 more Tejas fighter aircraft has also been completed. Apart from this, recently the purchase of 307 Atags Howitzer cannons has also been approved.
