Coast Guard Global Summit: In the year 2027, India will host the 5th Coast Guard Global Summit in Chennai. Its decision has been taken unanimously in the 4th Summit in Rome.

Coast Guard Global Summit: India will host the 5th Coast Guard Global Summit in Chennai in the year 2027, strengthening its role in international maritime cooperation. Its decision was taken unanimously at the 4th Summit in Rome. This 3 -day summit will have an International Fleet Review and Global Seminar. The event is to be organized to give a new dimension to global maritime cooperation on the 50th anniversary of the Indian Coast Guard. Let us know that India has got a big achievement on the world’s largest maritime security stage. This platform will bring coast guard agencies around the world together and will give a global dialogue on new maritime challenges and demonstrate solidarity.

This decision taken in 4th CGGS

The decision was taken on 11–12 September 2025 in the 4th CGGS held in Rome, Italy, in which representatives of 115 countries and international organizations participated. All the participants unanimously approved India’s proposal.

How many days will the program run

Please tell here that this summit will run till 3. It is going to include issues like International Coast Guard Fleet Review, World Coast Guard Seminaris Summit promoting global maritime cooperation, discussing shared challenges and strengthening confidence and interpreting.

A country alone cannot solve sea challenges

During this, Paramesh Shivamani, Director General of Indian Coast Guard, said that ‘No one country can solve the entire scope of marine challenges alone. He further said that this 2027 summit in Chennai will be an inclusive platform to strengthen interpreting, trust and global cooperation.

India’s global leadership will get new height

During this summit, DG ICG also met the Commandant of the Italian Coast Guard. Both sides have discussed increasing cooperation under the Indo-Itly Joint Strategic Action Plan. This included issues such as marine discovery and rescue, deafening of marine pollution, environmental protection, curb on international maritime crimes, sharing information, maritime surveillance, capacity building, training and technical cooperation.
