Indigo Refund: The country’s largest airline Indigo started refunding passengers after harassing them for 6 days. The Aviation Ministry said on Sunday that IndiGo has so far processed a total refund of Rs 610 crore for canceled or highly delayed flights and has delivered 3,000 bags to passengers across the country till Saturday. It also said that the aviation network is rapidly moving towards full normalization and all recovery measures will remain in place until operations are completely stable.

Instructions to deliver the bag within 48 hours

On Saturday, the government had directed airlines to complete the ticket refund process for canceled flights by Sunday evening and deliver the baggage separated from passengers in the next two days. Additionally, the Civil Aviation Ministry said that airlines should ensure that bags separated from passengers due to flight cancellation or delay are located and delivered to them within the next 48 hours. The Aviation Ministry said in a release, “IndiGo has so far processed a total refund of Rs 610 crore.

Operations are going normal

No extra fee will be charged for rescheduling the journey affected by cancellation. “Dedicated support cells have been created to assist passengers so that refund and rebooking issues are resolved without any delay or hassle.” The government said all other domestic airlines are operating smoothly and at full capacity, while IndiGo’s performance has shown steady improvement on Sunday, and flight schedules are returning to normal levels. It also said that IndiGo’s flight operations have increased from 706 on Friday to 1,565 on Saturday and are likely to reach 1,650 by the end of Sunday.

More than 2500 flights were canceled

Indigo halted its services for five-six days, due to which thousands of passengers had to face problems. Indigo had canceled more than 500 flights on December 4. More than 1000 flights were canceled on December 5, 850 flights on December 6 and 650 flights on December 7. A huge crowd of passengers was seen at the airport, who were desperately trying to find a solution. Some could not attend their own wedding and some missed their exams. This chaos is now being brought back on track. But the question is how the mental damage caused to the passengers will be compensated.
