According to a report, the Supreme Court sought evidence whether Shah Jahan himself had declared the Taj Mahal Waqf property and then the Supreme Court stayed the Waqf’s decision and ordered an inquiry.

After this, there was a hearing again in the April Supreme Court in 2018 and the SC demanded Shah Jahan’s signature papers from the Waqf Board. Now in the middle of 2018, when the Waqf Board felt that he would not be able to take ownership of the Taj Mahal without papers, the board gave up this claim and laid away its hands.
