Gujarat BJP President: Gujarat minister and OBC leader Jagdish Vishwakarma was declared the new president of the state unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday. He will replace Union Minister CR Patil. For the state BJP president, party election officer and Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav made an official announcement of Vishwakarma in a meeting of senior leaders and party workers at the party headquarters ‘Kamalam’ in Gandhinagar. Vishwakarma (52) has replaced Union Minister of Water Power Minister and Lok Sabha MP from Navsari, whose three -year term ended in July 2023. Vishwakarma, a three -time MLA from Nicole seat in Ahmedabad, was the only candidate to file nomination papers for this post on Friday. Vishwakarma is currently working as the Minister of State for Cooperation, Salt Industry, MSME, Cottage, Khadi and Rural Industries. He previously served as the president of the Ahmedabad city unit of the saffron party.

Prior to the ceremony, Vishwakarma took out a rally with a large number of party workers from his residence in Thakkarbapanagar, Ahmedabad. He thanked the top leadership of the party. The new president said that the BJP’s approach to the country, its cultural nationalist commitment, is made up of a long series of best citizens and hardworking and dedicated workers including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah. He said that BJP, the world’s largest party, is synonymous with development, trust, new ideas, national victory and self -sufficient India. Our effort should be united for a developed Gujarat and a strong BJP. With the help of all the workers, the team should serve people as Gujarat BJP. The trust that the people of Gujarat have expressed in the BJP in the last 25 years have increased this responsibility further. All BJP workers should live up to these expectations.
Whatever responsibility got it fulfilled: Patil
On this occasion, Patil said that under his leadership, the BJP contested the 2022 assembly elections with the confidence of winning 182 seats and managed to win 156 seats. In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the party won 25 out of 26 seats. He said that on both occasions, the party gained more than one crore votes against the opposition parties against the lead of more than three lakh votes. He said that all the responsibility given in the government or organization, BJP has been fulfilled by all. The way Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and JP Nadda have performed their duties, BJP has become a huge family. At the ceremony, Union Minister Yadav also announced the names of 39 National Council members of BJP. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Patil, CM Patel, senior party leaders Vaju Wala, Purushottam Rupala, RC Faldu etc. were present on the occasion.
