Trichy: Union Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said on Tuesday that Kamb Ramayana Festival is not just an opportunity to celebrate an epic, but it is an opportunity to celebrate our collective heritage, which inspires us to adopt the eternal values of religion, loyalty, righteousness and love. Said at the inauguration of the festival.
The Union Minister said that Ramayana has inspired countless works of art, literature, music and dance around the world in many forms. The Ramayana has left a permanent heritage in global consciousness by crossing national and cultural boundaries. Goodness versus vs. evil, duties and righteousness and victory of virtue over evil are echoed with people of all cultures and backgrounds. This global influence is a will of the universal appeal of the message of Ramayana, which is as relevant today as it was thousands of years ago.

Shri Shekhawat said that this is a message that talks about the importance of following the path of righteousness in all aspects of light and darkness, good and evil. It is said that on January 20 last year, at the Shri Ranganathswamy Temple in Srirangam, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said that listening to the verses of Kamb Ramayana in Shri Ranganathswamy Temple is such an experience, which I will cherish in my whole life.
Such events promote India’s literary and cultural traditions
Shri Shekhawat said that this is the same temple where the great Kamban first presented his Ramayana in public, which makes it even more remarkable. The Union Minister said that such events confirm India’s commitment to preserve and promote literary and cultural traditions. It is necessary to ensure that this tradition remains alive, lively and relevant in the lives of our youth.
