DK Shivakumar DKD: Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has sought evidence from BJP on allegations of fundraising before Bihar elections. After the opposition BJP alleged that Karnataka government ministers and officials were tasked with collecting funds for the Congress party ahead of the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Monday asked the saffron party to provide evidence to support its claims. BJP MPs Jagadish Shettar and BY Raghavendra had alleged that the ruling Congress was involved in raising funds for Bihar elections. BJP leaders claimed that corruption has increased in the state due to this practice.

Officials accused of collecting money

Shivakumar told reporters in Bengaluru that if he has any evidence, he should release it. Don’t let Raghavendra become synonymous with lies. There are some leaders who kill and run away. Don’t let Raghavendra become like this. He was responding to Raghavendra’s claim that the minister was using officials to raise funds for Bihar elections. This practice has now become a business for the ruling Congress in Karnataka. Raghavendra had told reporters in Shivamogga that all the cabinet ministers were looting through officials to send money for Bihar elections. Officials have been asked to collect the money. After collecting money from transfers, this is now being done in the name of renovation. All the ministers are collecting money for Bihar elections, it has become their main business.

Target given to every minister: BJP

BJP leader Jagadish Shettar had claimed that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had recently hosted a dinner for his cabinet colleagues in connection with the Bihar elections. He alleged that the Chief Minister called each minister separately during the dinner and discussed with them. Based on the departments of the ministers, their numbers and capacity, targets were set for them to collect money and send it for Bihar elections. Mentioning that Karnataka is a major resource center for Congress in the entire country. BJP leader Shettar said that the state government acts as an ATM for the high command of that party. He further asked why corruption is prevalent? Why has the commission increased? When asked, the officials say that the money has to be sent to Bihar. Bihar elections will be held in two phases. Voting will take place on 6th and 11th November. Counting of votes will take place on November 14.
