Kiren Rijiju's Karara on Rahul Gandhi

Rijiju said, “When they (Congress) win the election, everything is fine. But, when they lose the election, the Election Commission is guilty. It is a conspiracy to weaken democracy.”

Kiren rijiju attacks rahul gandhi: Union Minister Kiren Rijiju on Friday lashed out at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Kiren Rijiju said that Rahul Gandhi is running a malicious campaign to defame constitutional institutions. Rijiju accused Rahul Gandhi of “hazardous behavior” to defame constitutional institutions like the Election Commission and launch “malicious campaign” as part of a conspiracy to weaken democracy in the country. Targeting the Election Commission, retaliating Rahul Gandhi’s “vote theft” comment, Rijiju said that Congress leaders are continuously behaving “childish” by campaigning against the Election Commission after losing the election.

‘Allegations are made by losing elections’

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Rijiju said, “When they (Congress) win the election, everything is fine. But, when they lose the election, the Election Commission is guilty. It is a conspiracy to weaken democracy.” The monsoon session of Parliament, which began on July 21, has seen repeated disruption after opposition from opposition to the amendment of the voter list in Bihar before the elections to be held later this year. Rijiju accused Rahul Gandhi of launching a malicious campaign against constitutional institutions and called it a “dangerous behavior and approach”. He said, “People are saying that Rahul Gandhi is playing a dirty game to tarnish the image of the country.” The minister said that other opposition parties have also started saying that Gandhi is playing a very dangerous game to harm the country.

What is sir?

The issue of SIR (Special Intensive Revision) in Bihar is related to the process of updating the voter list, which was started by the Election Commission on 24 June 2025. Its purpose is to make the list accurate by removing the names of wrong or absent voters and adding new qualified voters. But the opposition parties allege that this process can deprive voters of the right to vote, especially the poor and migrant laborers. They say that many people can be out of the list due to demand for 11 documents and short time. It is also being heard in the Supreme Court, where the Commission was asked to accept documents like Aadhaar and Voter ID. The disappearance of 35 lakh voters has further increased the controversy.
