Kailash Mansarovar Yatra takes two routes

Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is done through two routes. One starts from Lipulekh near Uttarakhand, in which 5 batches travel for 22 days. The other route is through Nathu La Pass, Sikkim. From here 10 batches travel for 21 days.

How to register

To visit Kailash Mansarovar, you will have to register on the official website of the Ministry of External Affairs, kmy.gov.in. Let us tell you that this yatra is organized every year between June and September. Before this you have to register between March and April. You have to submit some important documents for registration.

Important rules for travel

  • You must be an Indian citizen to travel
  • You must have an Indian passport, which is valid for 6 months
  • Your age should be between 18 to 70 years.
  • You must have a body mass index (BMI) of 25 or higher
  • You must be absolutely healthy physically.

Passengers are called to ITBP camp in Delhi for medical examination. If any passenger has diabetes, high blood pressure or any heart related problem then he/she is not allowed to travel.

Total cost of Kailash Mansarovar Yatra

The cost of Kailash Mansarovar Yatra varies according to the route. The journey takes two routes, so the expenses are slightly different. The cost of each person to go to Kailash Mansarovar from Lipulekh Pass (Uttarakhand) is approximately ₹ 1.74 lakh. The cost per person to travel through Nathu La Pass (Sikkim) is approximately ₹ 2.83 lakh. To go to Kailash Mansarovar at low cost, you can choose the land route, which is cheaper than the helicopter route. Apart from this, if you are a resident of Uttar Pradesh, you can take advantage of the subsidy scheme of the Uttar Pradesh government, in which a subsidy of up to ₹ 1 lakh is available.
