Maharashtra: Raj Thackeray also expressed his opinion about the grave of Mughal ruler Aurangzeb. He said, “Today we are arguing except for the real issues whether Aurangzeb’s grave should remain or not.
Maharashtra: Raj Thackeray, the head of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, while addressing a gathering at Shivaji Park, made a sharp statement about the Ganges River, Kumbh Mela and Aurangzeb’s grave. He said that the condition of the rivers of the country is very worrying and it cannot be ignored in the name of religion.
What did you say about the cleanliness of the Ganges?
Raj Thackeray said, “We call Ganga a mother, but no concrete steps are being taken regarding her cleanliness. From Rajiv Gandhi to Narendra Modi in 2014, every government talked about cleaning Ganga, but the situation remains the same. Millions of people fall ill by bathing in the Ganges, but they are not paying any attention to the real issue.”
He further said that 33 thousand crore rupees have been spent in the name of cleaning the Ganges, but half the burn bodies are still being shed in the Ganges. He questioned that “If religion is coming in the midst of protecting our natural properties, then what is the work of such religion? Are we not wasting rivers in the name of religion?”
A big statement given about Aurangzeb’s grave
Raj Thackeray also expressed his opinion about the grave of Mughal ruler Aurangzeb. He said, “Today we are arguing except for real issues whether Aurangzeb’s grave should remain or not. It is important to understand history, not only to be aware on the basis of films. When Vicky Kaushal’s film came, some people understood the valor of Sambhaji Maharaj.”
He further said, “Aurangzeb ruled from Afghan to South India, but he spent his last day in Maharashtra. He was killed here, because he had to erase the idea of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.”
“Put only one board on Aurangzeb’s grave”
Raj Thackeray said, “There is no need to decorate Aurangzeb’s grave. Only a board should be installed there, in which it is written that ‘what came to kill us, we buried it here.’ The truth of our history should be known to the new generation, so that they know how our ancestors defeated the cruel rulers. ”
“Hindus who wake up watching the film are of no use”
Raj Thackeray also spoke on Hindutva and said, “Today some people have started talking about history by just inspired by films. But the truth is that the real Hindutva ideology needs to be understood and implemented.”
Target on caste politics
Raj Thackeray also took a dig at caste politics in the context of history. He said, “The lawyers of both Afzal Khan and Shivaji Maharaj were Brahmins. But now politics is being done about caste, which is not right. We need to see history in the right context.”
