Bihar Sir: Election Commission of India (ECI) has released the final voter list on Tuesday keeping in mind the Bihar assembly elections. Recently, a final list has been released to the special intensive revision (SIR) of the voters list made in the state. Apart from this, all claims and objections have been taken into consideration in the list. The Chief Electoral Officer of Bihar made this announcement while tagging ECI on his Facebook page. The post said that the final voters list in the light of SIR has been published on 30.09.2025. Common people can check their name by visiting the website voters.eci.gov.in.

Voters increase in Patna

At the same time, the statewide data for the final list was awaited and the number of voters in the list was 7.24 crore after about 65 lakh names were absent, transferred or declared dead. On the other hand, the Patna district administration said in a statement that the total number of voters in 14 assembly constituencies under its jurisdiction was around 48.15 lakhs, which has increased by 1.63 lakh compared to the list of draft voters published on August 1. The total number of voters in the district was 22.75 lakh and Digha constituency had the highest 4.56 lakh voters.

SIR aims to remove wrong name

Let us tell you that the Bihar assembly elections are likely to be announced soon and the huge SIR practice done by the Election Commission across the country has created controversy. Opposition parties have moved the Supreme Court and are alleging that the SIR is aimed at wrongly removing the names of the voters whose ruling BJP -led NDA is less likely to vote. However, BJP leaders, including Union Minister Amit Shah, insisted that SIR was required to take out the intruders, who allegedly wanted to protect the Indian block and vote.
