According to the police, unknown people posing as Central Government officials stopped a cash van carrying cash from a bank branch located in JP Nagar and ran away with about Rs 7 crore. Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects had come in a car which had a Government of India sticker on it. The robbers stopped the van employees in the name of document verification and then forcibly made them sit in their vehicle along with the cash. It is said that the accused proceeded towards Dairy Circle, where they dropped the employees and fled with all the cash. Police have registered the case and have intensified the search for the accused by scanning CCTV footage at various places in the city.

CCTV footage is being examined to trace the route of the vehicle and identify the people involved. Later, speaking to the media, Bengaluru City Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh said that the incident took place in Siddhapura police station area on Wednesday afternoon. Approximately seven crore rupees have been looted. This is being confirmed because the driver of the cash van has not shared the correct information. He said that on the information of robbery, a blockade has been imposed in the entire city. Vehicles are being checked everywhere. The suspects are being monitored. We are trying to catch the robbers. We have formed many teams, our teams are spread across the city. Our teams are present on the ground. Joint Commissioner is investigating

Said that two DCPs and a Joint Commissioner are investigating the matter. Citing preliminary information, Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh said the money was forcefully transferred from the CMS cash van to a vehicle and taken away. In response to a question about the number of suspects involved, the Commissioner said that we do not have any clear information yet.
