Jaipur: The police have arrested the bride who is absconding after marrying 25 grooms. After marriage, the woman escaped with cash and millions of jewelery. Police said on Wednesday that a 23 -year -old woman was arrested for cheating 25 men and later absconding with cash and valuables. Anuradha, a resident of Shiva Nagar in Bhopal, was arrested by the Sawai Madhopur police on 18 May. She was arrested from Bhopal, where she was hidden after marrying another person.
Jewelry after a week of marriage, disappeared with mobile phones
SHO Sunil Kumar of Mantown police station said that the accused woman has cheated many people by doing fake marriages. She escaped with jewelery including cash and mobile phones. The reason for his arrest was the case lodged by Vishnu Gupta on 3 May, where the victim Gupta claimed that two persons named Sunita and Pappu Meena had misled her. Both promised her a suitable bride. The SHO said that Sunita and Pappu Meena showed a picture of Anuradha to Vishnu Gupta. After this, Gupta persuaded to sign an agreement. After this, he took 2 lakh rupees from Gupta for marriage. However, after a week of marriage, Anuradha disappeared with dowry, jewelry and mobile phones.
In many states, women have carried out the incident
Investigation revealed that Anuradha was involved in many similar incidents in many states, where she disappeared immediately after getting married. It was further learned that Anuradha was in contact with many people in Bhopal, who were part of a large network who were running a fraudulent marriage scam. The scam included showing pictures of the bride to potential grooms, collecting huge amounts of up to Rs 2-5 lakh and then organizing fake marriages.

Police said that fake brides escaped immediately after the wedding ceremony, leaving the victims in financial and emotional crisis. Anuradha was finally tracked by the police, who introduced as a possible groom in search of the bride. The police got success when he saw Anuradha’s picture in the list of women shown as a potential bride, provided to her by some individuals involved in the scam.
