Jammu-Kashmir Politics: Mehbooba Mufti, who came to campaign on Budgam seat, said that before the assembly elections, Omar Abdullah had said that he will retain the seat where he will get the most votes.
Jammu-Kashmir Politics : Elections were held on four Rajya Sabha seats in Jammu and Kashmir, out of which National Conference won three and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won once. Meanwhile, Budgam assembly seat is also in the news. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had won this seat, but he has now left this seat and now a by-election has been announced here. In this context, PDP President Mehbooba Mufti came to campaign on Sunday and said that the people here had made CM Abdullah win on this seat but he left this won seat. PDP has made Agha Syed Muntajir Mehdi its candidate for this seat.
Voting will be held on November 11
Mehbooba Mufti, who came to campaign on Budgam seat, said that before the assembly elections, Omar Abdullah had said that he would retain the seat where he would get the most votes. However, even after getting more votes from here, he left this seat. Now I ask the people here to work towards making the PDP candidate win this seat as an alternative to the National Conference. By-elections are being held in Budgam assembly constituency on 11 November. This seat was won by Abdullah, as he had decided to retain the Ganderbal seat after winning from both the constituencies. This time 17 candidates are in the fray, including National Conference’s Agha Syed Mahmood.
It’s time to change direction
The PDP President asked how many times has he visited this constituency in the last one year? I am not saying that they could have done everything in one year, but when you do not keep your promises, how can you trust that leader or party? The former Chief Minister said that the people of Budgam have voted for National Conference candidates for the last 50 years and now the time has come for them to give a chance to an alternative. He further said that for the last 50 years, people have elected only National Conference leaders, made them ministers and this time they have made them the Chief Minister. But the development of the people here did not happen properly and now the time has come for the people to change their direction and give them a chance to create a bright future.
