Balotra struggling with polluted water
During the visit to Barmer on Saturday, Vishnoi said that we are talking about Barmer-Balotra district, Lord Indra is very generous. The minister said that when we worship Lord Krishna in our Chief Minister Bharatpur, there is very heavy rain here. After this, the Chief Minister has to pray to Lord Indra to reduce rain. So that people can continue their lives. Balotra is constantly struggling with the problem of polluted water flowing from the river Jori. The river carrying the industrial waste coming out of the factories of Jodhpur and Pali comes in spate during the monsoon, causing black and smelly water to the villages of Balotra. Criticizing Vishnoi’s remarks, Congress MLA Harish Chaudhary from Baytu assembly constituency of Barmer said that it is ridiculous to put the responsibility of man -made crisis on God.
People left home due to flood
The Congress MLA told PTI-Bhasha that the minister not only distracts the attention of the people from the real issue, but also alleged that the government is unable to solve it and only prayer can help. It is ridiculous. Chaudhary claimed that the areas around the Jojri river are submerged. The contaminated water in these areas is entering the fields, houses and other buildings. During the rains, the problem becomes worse when there is a boom in the river. Local people supported this and said that they have been affected by this problem for many years. No concrete steps have been taken so far to prevent pollutants coming out of the factories of Jodhpur and Pali. A local person said that due to this situation there have been many protests in the affected villages. Many families have to leave their homes due to floods and health hazards. He informed that the area of 100 km from Jodhpur to Barmer has been affected.
