PM Modi in Varanasi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday called upon the citizens to adopt the spirit of “indigenous” and support the local -manufactured products. He emphasized that the true service of the country lies in promoting indigenous items, especially amidst “global economic uncertainties”. Addressing a public meeting in our parliamentary constituency Varanasi, Modi said that when we talk about economic progress, I want to draw your attention to the current global scenario. He said that the world economy is facing instability and uncertainty. Modi said that our country is only focusing on its interests. India is also on the way to become the third largest economy in the world and should be conscious of its economic priorities. The Prime Minister’s new urge for ‘Swadeshi’ has come at a time when the US has announced a tariff on exports from about 70 countries including India.
Employment government’s top priority
According to the order of the White House, India will now face 25 percent tariffs on its exports to the US. Emphasizing employment for farmers, small scale industries and youth on the highest priorities of the government, Modi said that the government is making every effort in this direction. But as citizens, we also have responsibilities. Calling a national movement to support local products, the Prime Minister said that it is not just about Modi’s saying, every Indian should say this. If we want India to become the third largest economy, then every political party and every leader will have to leave their hesitation and work in the national interest and to awaken the spirit of indigenous among the people. He urged people to become conscious consumers and said that whatever we buy, we should ask ourselves. Have any Indians worked hard to make it? If it is made up of our people’s sweat, their skills, then that product is indigenous for us.
True service of the country is to promote Swadeshi
Said that we have to adopt the mantra of ‘Vocal for Local’. The Prime Minister told the shopkeepers that let us take a pledge to sell only indigenous goods in our shops and markets. At a time when the world is going through a period of uncertainty. Promoting goods manufactured in India will be the true service of the country. With festivals and weddings, the Prime Minister encouraged people to ensure that all new purchases be made in India itself. Modi said that the spirit of indigenous in every task will define our future. This will also be a true tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. Only through collective efforts we can fulfill the dream of developed India. The Prime Minister was addressing a huge public meeting in Banoli village in Sevapuri, Varanasi on Saturday. He said that the government is working continuously for the good of farmers. He said that the promises made in the name of farmers in previous governments were rarely fulfilled, but the BJP government fulfills its promises.
