New Delhi/Lucknow: A case of derogatory remarks of Samajwadi Party MP Dimple Yadav by a Muslim religious leader has caught fire. NDA MPs staged a protest in the Parliament complex and questioned the “silence” of their party and other MPs. An FIR has also been registered in Uttar Pradesh in this case. Dimple Yadav, however, said that if a similar solidarity was shown during incidents like violence in Manipur, then the anger of NDA would have been even more meaningful. Allegedly, a religious leader named Maulana Sajid Rashid made this anti -female comment on Yadav, who was wearing a sari in a meeting held in a mosque. He compared him to another female SP MP Iqra Hasan, who covered his head.
Protests expressed in Parliament House complex
This comment made during a TV debate was widely condemned by women MPs on social media and BJP’s flute Swaraj and Congress’s Renuka Chaudhary. The ruling NDA MPs, especially women MPs protested near the Makar Gate in the Parliament House complex and raised slogans, “Women power will not be insulted. Agree? It is very embarrassing that such objectionable and unfair remarks were made against an existing MP, and yet her husband and her entire party are silent. ” He accused the opposition of giving priority to “politics of appeasement” instead of women’s dignity and said that NDA will continue to raise his voice for every woman including Dimple Yadav.
Congress leader Renuka Chaudhary condemns
Congress leader Renuka Chaudhary also condemned Maulvi’s remarks, saying, “This reflects his mentality and rituals. How did he dare to speak like this? Whether Dimple Yadav or any other woman, how can such things be said? Who can these people and where do they come from?” JD (U) MP Lovely Anand demanded an apology from Maulvi. He asked SP chief Akhilesh Yadav to support his wife Dimple Yadav. He told PTI, “Then other women will also be confident.” Reacting to the support received from the NDA, Dimple Yadav questioned why he did not protest during the violence in Manipur. He said, “It is a good thing that action is being taken now, but it would have been better if the horrific incidents like Manipur came to light on social media through footage.” A similar opposition and support would have been seen. “He said to reporters in the Parliament complex,” If people would unite on the issue of operation vermilion at that time as today, it would have shown true concern.
The statement hurts the dignity of women
Meanwhile, an FIR was lodged at Vibhuti Khand police station on Sunday evening based on the complaint of local resident Pravesh Yadav in Lucknow. He accused Rashidi of “very objectionable, inflammatory and anti -female comments”, which was “derogatory and feminine” and aims to “incite religious hatred and communal tension”. The FIR cites several sections of the Indian Justice Code (BNS), including 79 (insulting the dignity of women), 196 (promoting enmity between groups) and 197 (harmful to national unity). In the complaint of Pravesh Yadav, it was further alleged that Rashidi’s comment on social media and national television is “insulting a woman’s personal dignity”. He said, “Such statements not only hurts the dignity of women, but also pose a threat to the unity, integrity and peace of the country. A police officer said that the matter is being investigated and appropriate action will be taken based on the conclusions.
