Cp radhakrishnan: Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan has said that his 13 -month term in the state was the most pleasant phase of his public life. He will take his pleasant memories before going to Delhi as the next Vice President of India. Radhakrishnan, 67, on Tuesday, in the Vice Presidential election, Joint Opposition candidate B.K. Winned by defeating Sudarshan Reddy by a margin of 152 votes. President Draupadi Murmu will administer him oath of office on Friday. Speaking at an informal reception ceremony held at Raj Bhavan, Radhakrishnan described himself as an adamant nationalist. He said that his mother had told him the inspiring stories of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. He also appreciated Dr. BR Ambedkar for giving India its constitution and fighting with courage with social evils.
Feeled working with two cm
He said that Chhatrapati Shivaji fought with foreign invaders, while Ambedkar fought the harassment. Due to such visionary people, India remains a democracy, while our neighbor Pakistan had to struggle to maintain it. Radhakrishnan, who took over as the Governor of Maharashtra in July 2024, said that he had a unique experience of working with two Chief Ministers during his tenure. He said that when I took charge, the current Deputy Chief Minister (Eknath Shinde) was the Chief Minister and the current Chief Minister (Devendra Fadnavis) was the Deputy Chief Minister. Later his roles changed. Nevertheless, his cordial relationship and the spirit of teamwork say a lot about the political culture of this great state.
Administrative and political experiences from Maharashtra
Radhakrishnan said that Maharashtra has given him invaluable administrative and political experience. Referring to the official state song of Maharashtra, he compared going to Delhi, like protecting another throne of democracy. He said that I feel fortunate that after former President Shankar Dayal Sharma, I too have got the opportunity to go to the post of Vice President of India from the post of Governor of Maharashtra. Radhakrishnan said that development should be inclusive and every section of Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and society should be benefited. He said that development can be called true development only when it uplifts all sections of society. Radhakrishnan had earlier been the Governor of Jharkhand and he also had additional charge of Telangana and Puducherry. He said that Maharashtra will always be special for him. He said that I carry sweet memories of Maharashtra and his people.
