Nitish Kumar CM Oath Ceremony: After NDA’s landslide victory in the assembly elections, today JD (U) supremo Nitish Kumar will take oath as the Chief Minister of Bihar for a record 10th time. Preparations for the swearing-in ceremony at Patna’s historic Gandhi Maidan have been completed. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and many top leaders of NDA will participate in the swearing-in ceremony. The program will start at Gandhi Maidan at 11:30 am.
Nitish elected leader of legislative party
After the meeting of newly elected MLAs on Wednesday, Nitish Kumar was elected the leader of the NDA legislature party, where senior leader Samrat Chaudhary was elected the leader of the BJP legislature party and Vijay Kumar Sinha was elected the deputy leader. Nitish Kumar submitted his resignation from the post of outgoing CM to Governor Arif Mohammad Khan. He was also accompanied by Union Minister Chirag Paswan, RLM chief Upendra Kushwaha and Uttar Pradesh Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya.

New faces may join the cabinet
The new Bihar cabinet is expected to include 16 ministers from BJP and 14 from JDU, including the party chief. Sources said that a consensus has been reached among the NDA allies to appoint BJP’s Prem Kumar as the Assembly Speaker. JDU is likely to get the post of Deputy Chairman. Sources said the new cabinet will have five to six new faces from the main constituents of the NDA – BJP and JD(U). While JDU is ready to retain its existing ministers, BJP may bring in some new faces.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Chemicals and Fertilizers Minister JP Nadda, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, UP CM Yogi Adityanath, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Manjhi, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Assam CM Hemant Vishwa Sharma, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar were present at the swearing-in ceremony. Sharma will be present. Many dignitaries including Singh Dhami, Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu, Tripura CM Manik Saha will attend. Apart from this, more than 2 lakh supporters of NDA will also witness the swearing in.
