Patna: Before the assembly elections, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday announced an ‘dominance policy’ in the recruitment of government teachers. However, CM Nitish Kumar did not specify what percentage of recruitments would be reserved for the state-born and grew up. This announcement has been made before the assembly elections to be held this year in the state. CM Nitish Kumar said in a post on X that the Education Department has been instructed to make necessary amendments in the relevant rules to give priority to the residents (domicile) of Bihar in the recruitment of teachers. He said that since the formation of the government in November 2005, we are constantly working to improve the education system.
Appointment of large number of teachers
Said that a large number of teachers have been appointed to strengthen the education system. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that it will be implemented from Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE) -4, which will be held this year. While TRE-5 will be held in 2026. He said that before organizing TRE-5, instructions have also been given to conduct the Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test (STET). Recently, amid the increasing demand for ‘residence policy’ in Bihar, the Bihar cabinet ordered that a 35 percent quota for women in government jobs will be limited to the ‘permanent residents’ of the state only. In 2016, the state government implemented 35 percent reservation for women in government jobs at all levels in the state.
Tejashwi’s promise- 100 percent domicile
Significantly, before the assembly elections in the state, efforts are being seen for mass movement on the issue of domicile. Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Yadav has promised ‘100 percent Domicile’ when RJD comes to power. Union Minister Chirag Paswan also came up in support of Domici’s demand a few days ago, but questioned RJD’s commitment on this issue. Thousands of youths of the state continue to agitate from time to time demanding the implementation of Domici policy.
