With the power crisis, industry businesses are also being affected along with normal life. Keeping these problems in mind, a new 2400 MW thermal power plant will be set up in Pirpainti of Bhagalpur. Nitish government has approved this project. This plant is expected to generate electricity by 2030.
The Nitish government has taken another big step towards increasing power generation capacity in the state. A new thermal power plant with a 2400 MW capacity will be set up in Pirpainti in Bhagalpur district. This will be the second thermal power plant in Bhagalpur district. The NTPC’s Kahalgaon Thermal Power Plant (2300 MW) is already running here. Let us know that this project is being considered very important in view of the increasing demand for industrialization and electricity in Bihar.
This thermal power plant will ensure continuous power supply for the state. It will also help in industrial development of the state. Bihar State Power Holding Company Limited has made complete preparations for this project. The process of land acquisition has been completed. The total capacity of the project is 2400 MW. Its estimated cost will be around 20 thousand crores. Early 1020.60 acres have been acquired.
Coal will be supplied from Rajmahal coal block of Jharkhand
Coal for the plant will be supplied from Rajmahal Coal Block in Jharkhand. From 2029, the production of 60 million metric tonnes of coal will start from Rajmahal Coal Block, out of which 12 million metric tons of coal pirpainti thermal plant will be available. With this, the plant will continue to get coal supply without any hindrance. So far, 1,020.60 acres of land acquisition has been completed, in which about two thousand crore rupees have been spent. This land has been acquired from Hrinkaul, Shrimatpur, Raipura, Sundarpur and Tundwa-Mudwa Mauja of Pirpainti zone.
