Sports Policy: The aim of sports policy is not only to enhance the sports talents of the country, but also make India a major exporter of sports materials globally.
Sports Policy: Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandavia said that sports ecosystem is developing very fast. Our country has the ability to achieve everything. We need to understand the challenges coming forward. How will we move forward in the sports building sector in the coming days? He said that we can also make sports infrastructure, sports literature and sports education design a part of sports materials. There are many challenges like GST. We should make a task force and make plans and policies for sports manufacture. Sports Minister Mansukh said that the ministry will contact stakeholders to pave the way to strengthen the region to promote more production and exports. Sports material construction sector is the priority of the government. The first pillar of the National Sports Administration Bill was athlete-centric rule. The Sports Minister also addressed the federations.
Policy manufacturing work completed by September
Said that this is an important conference, a part of the reforms in the sports sector which focuses on how we can interfere with the formation of sports materials. He said that policies will be made through discussion with all stakeholders including NITI Aayog and manufacturers. The work of policy making will be completed by September. Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandavia announced on Saturday that India would implement a dedicated sports material manufacturing policy by the end of this year. He says that the purpose of this policy is not only to encourage the sports talents of the country, but also make India a major exporter of sports materials globally.
Task force will prepare policy
Said that at present many athletes depend on expensive imported equipment for international level competition. To overcome this challenge, the government will promote high quality indigenous sports material production. Mandavia said that for this, a task force will be formed in partnership with National Sports Federation (NSF) and industry stakeholders, which will formulate a policy. He said that this scheme will be started by November-December. The Sports Minister said at the sports material construction conference that the government aims to make the country the best sports material manufacturer, so that high class facilities can be made available to athletes and the entire sports ecosystem can be empowered. This will play a leading role in both sports material production and export areas.
