Online Gaming Bill: Online Gaming Promotion and Regulation Bill 2025 has been introduced by the Central Government in the Lok Sabha. This bill has been passed to encourage e-sports.
Online Gaming Bill : The Central Government on Wednesday introduced the online gaming promotion and regulation Bill 2025 in the monsoon session of Parliament. This bill encourages e-sports and also works to ban harmful online money gaming services. Its goal is to protect them from the risky gaming apps going on among the youth, which push them into economic crisis. According to the government, activities like financial fraud and compromise on national security can be banned.

Regarding this bill, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that the proposed law has been taken in view of the safety of citizens. This bill will promote innovation. According to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, the rise of digital technologies in the country has greatly benefited citizens. But at the same time many new risks have also come up, which has also made it very important to ensure that the society is protected from the possible damage to the misuse of technology.

These problems arose
The purpose of this bill helps in furthering e-sports and online social games. Along with this, harmful online money gaming services, ad and their financial transactions are banned. The bill also declares online fantasy sports to online gambling and online lottery, all online betting and gambling activities are also illegal and also works to stop it.
Birth of serious consequences like suicide
Significantly, the government believes that online money gaming app can be banned to stop serious consequences like addiction, financial loss and suicide. In addition, it makes the national laws of the digital sector according to the laws of the existing laws related to related activities in the world such as the Indian Justice Code, 2023 and many other state governments, where things like betting and gambling are banned.
