Apart from this, all the leaders of opposition parties also held a joint press conference in Colombo to make the arrest of Wickramasinghe. Opposition cannot be intimidated

Sirisena said that such actions are against the principles that Sri Lanka has coined. On the other hand, Sri Lanka People’s Front (SLPP) general secretary Kariawasam said that his party disagrees with the policies of Wickramasinghe, but the government will have to oppose the attempt to silence by intimidating the opposition. Please tell that before the arrest, the condition of President Wickremesinghe worsened and he was admitted to Colombo National Hospital. Director of the hospital, Dr. Rukhshan Bellana said that the former President is still under surveillance due to the situation of dehydration. He further said that Wickramasinghe had to face dehydration after spending 10 hours of time in court.

Admitted to national hospital

The director of the hospital said that to protect against health complications, he will have to be monitored and he would have to stay in ICU for three days. Now the court appearance on Tuesday is no longer possible. He said that no person admitted in ICU can appear in court. Please tell that Wickramasinghe was sent to Colombo National Hospital on Saturday. A day earlier, during his tenure, he was arrested on charges of alleged misuse of government money and was clearly refused to bail. After the Colombo Fort Magistrate, he was taken to the main magazine remand jail around midnight on Friday.
