Lucknow: The Yogi government has taken tough steps to stop the fraud in the pension scheme. The government believes that the correct benefits of the scheme are not reaching the eligible people from the fraud. The Uttar Pradesh government on Saturday said that it will verify the beneficiaries of the pension scheme for destitute women so that the dead and ineligible people can be removed from its list. A statement said that Leena Johri, Principal Secretary, Women Welfare Department, has issued orders to all Mandalayuktas and District Magistrates to complete the verification of the beneficiaries of the destitute Mahila Pension Yojana by May 25.
Verification work will be completed in three phases
Under this scheme, the age of 18 years and permanent resident of UP, whose husband has passed away. The entire process will be done under the supervision of the District Magistrate. The verification work will be completed in three stages. In the first phase, the verification of the beneficiaries will have to be completed by May 10. With the list report signed by May 15, the District Probation Officer will have to be submitted and the pension of the deceased and ineligible beneficiaries will have to be discontinued by 25 May. Pension will be given to the characters one thousand rupees per month.

About 34 lakh women have enrolled under the scheme
The government said that at present about 34 lakh women have been enrolled under this scheme. Aadhaar authentication has been made mandatory for all women who get benefits under the scheme. The purpose of this practice is to ensure that only real eligible women get the benefit of pension program. The statement said that eligible beneficiaries will be informed about their payment status through SMS information regularly. The pension amount is transferred directly to the bank accounts associated with the Aadhaar of the beneficiary.
