Uttarakhand 25th Foundation Day: Today Uttarakhand is celebrating its 25th anniversary. There is enthusiasm in the entire state on this occasion. Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to Dehradun today to commemorate the silver jubilee of the establishment of Uttarakhand state. Here Governor Lieutenant General (Retd) Gurmeet Singh and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami welcomed him. PM Modi has given a big gift to Uttarakhand. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of projects worth Rs 8,260 crore in Uttarakhand.
Foundation stone of projects in 23 areas
On the occasion of Foundation Day, PM Modi launched various development projects worth more than Rs 8,260 crore, of which he inaugurated projects worth more than Rs 930 crore and laid the foundation stone of projects worth Rs 7,200 crore. All these projects are related to various sectors including drinking water, irrigation, technical education, energy, urban development, sports and skill development. The projects inaugurated by the Prime Minister include Dehradun water supply coverage for 23 areas under AMRUT scheme, electrical substation in Pithoragarh district, solar power plants in government buildings, Astroturf hockey field at Haldwani Stadium in Nainital etc. Congratulating the people of Uttarakhand today, the PM said, he has come here to attend the function organized to commemorate the completion of 25 years of the formation of Uttarakhand.
Postal stamp issued
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also released a commemorative postage stamp on this occasion. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “25 years ago, the budget of Uttarakhand was only Rs 4,000 crore, today it has increased to more than Rs 1 lakh crore. Electricity production in Uttarakhand has increased four times in 25 years. The length of roads in Uttarakhand has doubled in 25 years…” Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “I spoke to the youth and entrepreneurs of Uttarakhand for some time. They all are very excited about the development of Uttarakhand… even today.” Many projects to accelerate the development journey of Uttarakhand have been inaugurated and laid. These projects related to education, health, tourism and sports will create new employment opportunities here.
‘Uttarakhand is the heartbeat of India’s spiritual journey’
Prime Minister Modi said, “Devbhoomi Uttarakhand is the heartbeat of India’s spiritual journey – Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedarnath, Badrinath and many other pilgrimage sites are symbols of our faith. A large number of devotees come here and contribute to the devotion as well as the economy of the state. Projects worth Rs 2 lakh crore are currently underway.”
