The pilgrimage of Mount Kailash and Mansarovar, which begins again after a gap of five years, has religious significance for Hindus as well as Jains and Buddhists.
Gangtok: Five years later preparations for Kailash Mansarovar Yatra from Sikkim have started. The Sikkim government has started preparations for the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra through Nathu La. Nathu La is a mountain pass in the Himalayas that connects the state to the Tibet Autonomous region of China. The pilgrimage of Mount Kailash and Mansarovar, which begins again after a gap of five years, has religious significance for Hindus as well as Jains and Buddhists.
Two centers are being built between Gangtok and Nathu La to the convenience of passengers
MLA Thinley Shering Bhutia said that two centers are being set up between the state capital Gangtok and Nathu La, while the functional toilets and other travel related to the pilgrims are also being developed. So that the passengers do not have any problem. This pass is located in the Kabi-Lungchok constituency of Bhutia. The MLA told reporters that he is assessing the ground status to further increase the facilities for Mansarovar passengers. The Ministry of External Affairs had said last month that the journey from June to August will be from two routes 1. Lipulekh Pass in Uttarakhand and 2. Nathu La One in Sikkim.

The journey was closed since 2020 due to military deadlock
He said that with the availability of good roads, Nathu La Marg will provide pilgrims again safe and better travel experience. The journey was initially suspended in 2020 due to the Kovid-19 epidemic and later on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Eastern Ladakh (LAC). The forces of India and China had completed the return of soldiers at two remaining friction points of Demchok and Depsang under an agreement on 21 October last year. In January, Foreign Secretary Vikram Egypt visited Beijing and held talks with his Chinese counterpart Sun Vedong.
10 batch of passengers will pass through Sikkim
At the meeting, both sides decided to resume the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra and agreed to take steps to stabilize and reconstruct the relationship. The Ministry of External Affairs had earlier said in a statement that this year five batch, each of which consists of 50 passengers, and 10 batch, each in 50 passengers, respectively, crossing the Lipulekh Pass respectively, crossing the Uttarakhand state and crossing the Nathu La Pass, traveling from the state of Sikkim. The MLA said that the public representatives and officers of various government departments were with them during the visit to facilities. During this period, further development of the existing infrastructure was also considered.
