Varanasi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is coming to his parliamentary constituency Varanasi on 11 April. Seeing his visit, Spg has camped in the city. SPG also tested security arrangements on Modi’s possible routes. In Varanasi, Modi will address a public meeting and will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of 44 projects worth Rs 3,880 crore.
Varanasi Divisional Commissioner Kaushal Raj Sharma said that inaugurated projects include schemes focused on rural development, including 130 drinking water projects, 100 new Anganwadi centers, 356 libraries, a polytechnic college in Pindra and a government degree college. He informed that the Prime Minister will also inaugurate a transit hostel in the police line and police barracks and four rural roads in Ramnagar. Focusing on urban development, Modi will inaugurate projects at Shastri Ghat and front ghats, as well as inauguration of various beautification projects made by Railways and Varanasi Development Authority.
220 KVA’s new substation will be built near Chaukaghat

Mr. Sharma informed that infrastructure projects related to the airport are also on the agenda, which also includes making tunnels for its expansion. The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of three new flyovers as well as various road widening and school renewal works and two stadiums in Shivpur and UP College. Modi will also address a public meeting in Mehndiganj in Rohania. In view of the heat and traffic, Modi’s program will be organized on the ring road outside the city border, so that the reach of the rural population can be easier.
About four thousand personnel including six SPs will be deployed in security
Police Commissioner Mohit Aggarwal and ADG Suraksha Raghuveer Lal said that six SPs, eight additional SPs, 33 COs and about 4000 personnel of police, PAC and paramilitary forces will be deployed under the security of the Prime Minister. Admission will be available only after thorough investigation and search at the venue including VIP route. Temporary parking zones will be built near the venue. Deployment on roofs in VIP routes and surrounding areas will be ensured, monitoring with CCTV and drone cameras.
Policemen will not be able to use mobile phones at duty point
Police personnel have been instructed not to use mobile phones at duty point and come with ID and duty card in the entire uniform. The PM’s security protocol has been asked to strictly follow and ropes will be used to control the crowd. Officials said that the police have also been instructed to maintain humble behavior with the attendees. The Prime Minister will stay in Varanasi for about two and a half hours. Party workers will welcome the Prime Minister by playing conch, drums and flowers at many places. Hoardings and posters have been installed in the city to welcome him.
