Punjab News: The Punjab government’s ‘War Against Drugs’ campaign has now reached the decisive turn. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann announced on Monday that the campaign against drug smuggling in the state is in the final stages. He said that new “defense committees” formed in villages and cities will play a decisive role in this war.
The campaign broke intoxication of intoxication
The Chief Minister said that this campaign, which started on February 4, has achieved great success so far. The roots of intoxication in the state have been uprooted to a great extent and the spine of drug supply has been completely broken. He also thanked the people of Punjab for cooperation in this mission.
Important role of defense committees in village and city
Mann said that the government has formed “Defense Committees” to keep villages and cities drug -free even in future. She expressed confidence that these committees will play the role of ‘General’ in this battle and will protect their territory.
Committees will be formed in every village and ward
A committee of 10 to 20 members will be formed in every village or ward, including four core members, Sarpanch or ward councilor, anti -drug campaign representative, BDPO or representative, and SHO or representative. It will only include people with good character and image, such as retired soldiers, teachers, and village heads.
24 × 7 monitoring system
The Chief Minister said that these committees will be notified by the local SDM and special government identity cards will be given to all the members, which will make direct communication with the administration. The villages and wards will be monitored round the clock so that no smugglers can be activated again.
Will also play role in rehabilitation
The role of defense committees will not be limited to monitoring only, but they will also help in rehabilitation of pre -drug addicts and will try to bring them into the mainstream of society. Any village or ward which is declared 100% drug -free will be given a letter of honor and formal recognition by the government.
Door-to-door campaign
Mann told that awareness programs will be run for children in schools, while defense committees will make people aware and make people aware. So far, more than 10,000 village level meetings have been held and many panchayats have passed a proposal to declare their villages intoxicated.
Target on former governments
The Chief Minister said without naming anyone that if the previous governments had rein in the drug mafia, then such a situation would not have come today. He said, “Former governments formed development committees, we had to make defense committees because they were giving protection to smugglers.”
Akali will be gestured on the leader, will keep evidence in court
Mann targeted the former Akali minister in jail and said that important evidence has been found against him which will be produced in the court. It is believed that his gesture was towards Bikram Singh Majithia, who was recently arrested in disproportionate assets case.
Through the defense committees constituted in the village-city, it is now being ensured that in the future, drug dealers cannot step on the land of Punjab.
