Maharashtra News: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday alleged that government land worth Rs 1,800 crore reserved for Dalits in Maharashtra was sold to a company linked to the son of a state minister. He claimed that this ‘land theft’ has been done by the government which was formed through ‘vote theft’. Rahul Gandhi questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s silence on this deal and asked whether it was because his government rested on those people who snatch the rights of Dalits and the deprived. There were allegations of irregularities in a Rs 300 crore land deal in Pune involving a firm linked to Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s son Parth. On which a political controversy arose on Thursday. After this the government ordered a high level inquiry.
Chief Minister asked for information
Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul alleged that government land worth Rs 1800 crore reserved for Dalits in Maharashtra was sold to the minister’s son’s company for only Rs 300 crore. Apart from this, stamp duty on land deals was also waived. Which means that it is not only robbery, but also a discount on legal stamp duty. The Congress leader alleged that they know that no matter how much they loot, they will return to power by stealing votes. He said that neither there is respect for democracy, nor for the people, nor for the rights of Dalits. Gandhi asked that Modi ji, your silence says a lot. Are you silent because your government rests on the same robbers who violate the rights of Dalits and the deprived? Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that prima facie the matter is serious. He has sought information from the concerned departments. Ajit Pawar insisted that he was not connected to this controversial deal in any way.
Demand for judicial inquiry
The opposition criticized the ruling grand alliance. Which includes BJP, Ajit Pawar’s NCP and Eknath Shinde led Shiv Sena. Rahul Gandhi demanded a judicial inquiry. First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against three people in this case. The government has suspended a sub-registrar. A high-level committee has been formed to investigate irregularities in the land deal. Parth Pawar has not yet responded to the allegations. According to an official, 40 acres of the government’s Mahar Watan land in Pune’s posh Mundhwa area was sold for Rs 300 crore to a private firm Amadiya Enterprises LLP, represented by its partner Digvijay Amarsingh Patil. Stamp duty was waived on this. The official said that Parth Pawar is also a partner in this firm.
