UP Khadi Mahotsav: Khadi Mahotsav was organized in UP and during this a large number of women along with youth also reached. The 10 day long festival witnessed record breaking sales of Rs 3.20 crore.

UP Khadi Festival: Khadi Mahotsav-2025 was organized from 21-30 November at the Central Sanskrit University located in Gomtinagar. During this period, the event organized on the theme ‘Dhaage Se Dharohar Tak’ saw a turnover of around Rs 3.20 crore and this is 42 percent more than last year. Last year, there was a sale of Rs 2.25 crore in the Khadi Mahotsav and the special thing was that the youth made the maximum purchases. Meanwhile, the shopping pressure continued till the last day and there was a huge crowd at the stalls till late evening. Let us tell you that during this period, people’s first choice was herbal products, khadi clothes, jute handicrafts and clay art. Apart from this, to make the festival even more special, State Finance Minister Suresh Khanna also arrived and did shopping.

160 entrepreneurs took part

A total of 160 entrepreneurs including 32 stalls of Khadi institutions, 120 stalls of village industries and 08 stalls of clay art participated in the festival. The artisans mostly arrived from many districts including Muzaffarnagar, Gorakhpur, Lucknow and Gorakhpur. He told that this year there has been a huge crowd compared to last time, but there was also a lot of enthusiasm among the people regarding shopping. Meanwhile, Prem Kumar of Swarajya Ashram, Satendra Kumar of Gram Seva Sansthan, Abbas Ansari of Muzaffarnagar, Anjali Singh of Jute Artisans, Premchandra of Barabanki and Prof. of Royal Honey. According to Nitin Singh, this time a lot of enthusiasm was seen among the youth regarding shopping and this has given a new dimension to the sales.

Craze of youth seen in Khadi Mahotsav

It is being told that the presence of students, youth and women remained constant throughout the festival. People attending the event said that it was quite interesting to find such a variety of Khadi, local crafts and natural products at one place. On the other hand, on the last day of the festival, Chief Executive Officer of the Board, Shishir thanked the entrepreneurs and the organizing team. He also said that Khadi is not just an alternative to clothing, but it has become a common identity of both our cultural heritage and modernity. Let us tell you that the youth arriving in such large numbers to buy Khadi shows that they also take cultural aspects so seriously. Also, if the youth are reaching there then they will also try to create a new look by adding some trending touch to the traditional attire and the sellers will also get a new task that they will have to add a touch of modern touch along with tradition to connect with today’s generation.
