Barabanki Accident: The dumper broke the railing of the bridge and fell on the railway track near Aganpur village of Ramnagar in Barabanki district of Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday night. Due to which the train passing nearby was saved from becoming a victim of an accident. As soon as the dumper fell on the railway track, there was such a huge explosion that the people nearby were shocked. After the accident, the breath of the train passengers got stuck. Garib Rath Express remained stuck for about two hours. The overhead power line (OHE) of the railway was completely damaged due to the falling of the dumper. Due to this, the movement of trains on the Burhwal-Gonda railway line came to a halt immediately. Railway officials said on Thursday that a loaded dumper broke the railing of the overbridge and fell about 25 feet on the railway track near Burhwal Junction, due to which the driver was seriously injured. Train movement was disrupted on the track.
Overhead electric wires broken, Burhwal-Gonda railway line stalled
Due to the fall of the dumper, overhead electrical wires on the railway tracks broke, due to which the Amritsar-Saharsa Garib Rath Express suddenly stopped. Passengers said they heard a loud bang, forcing the loco pilot to apply emergency brakes. Superintendent of Police Arpit Vijayvargiya said that no train passenger was injured. He said that the dumper laden with plywood fell on the tracks. The driver was seriously injured. He has been admitted to the hospital. Superintendent of Police said that the dumper driver was saved by cutting the cabin and he was taken to the district hospital, where his condition remains critical. As soon as the information was received, railway officials and local police reached the spot. It took about two hours to clear the debris and remove the dumper from the tracks, during which several trains remained halted at nearby stations. Railway officials said that Garib Rath Express remained stuck for about two hours. Ravi Kumar, in-charge of Burhwal Junction Railway Protection Force, said that the movement of trains was restored only after the damaged wires were repaired and the tracks were cleared. After about two hours of disruption, rail services gradually became normal.
The entire train shook during the accident
Varanasi resident Chaman Singh, who was traveling in the Garib Rath Super Fast Express which was passing by during the accident, described the horror of the accident. Told that as soon as the dumper fell on the railway track, there was a huge explosion. It seemed that someone had blown up the train with a bomb. The entire train was also shaken at the time of the accident. It seemed that the train had derailed. He told that we thought that we will not survive now. The overhead power line (OHE) of the railway was completely damaged due to the falling of the dumper. Due to this, the movement of trains on the Burhwal-Gonda railway line came to a halt immediately. The line coming from Sitapur, the main line going to Gorakhpur-Bihar and the Barabanki-Lucknow line connect at Burhwal Junction. 150-170 trains pass through this route throughout the day. In such a situation, after the OHE line was broken, express, superfast and passenger trains had to be stopped. Trains coming from Sitapur route faced the most problems due to route diversion. After about 45 minutes, the driver was cut off from the dumper and sent to the district hospital in critical condition. The dumper driver was identified as Pankaj Kumar, resident of Manihari village of Colonelganj, Gonda.
