Rohit-Kohli are the backbone of Team India: Shahid Afridi

Afridi-Gambhir Controversy: After losing the Test series, many questions were raised on Gautam Gambhir’s coaching. Only after this, the Indian team entered the ODI series against SA, in which Rohit-Virat played an important role.

Afridi-Gambhir Controversy : Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has again given a big statement regarding Indian cricket. He described Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli as the backbone of the Indian team. He also said that both the cricketers should at least play the ODI World Cup to be held in the year 2027. Afridi targeted the head coach of Team India and said that Gautam Gambhir always considers his decisions as paramount. The former Pakistan cricketer said that time has shown that not every decision of Gambhir proves to be right and the senior players of the team should be treated in the same manner.

Rohit-Virat looked in form

Shahid Afridi has praised Rohit and Virat Kohli and called them the strong link of the Indian team. Also, Rohit-Kohli’s performance in the three-match ODI series against South Africa was excellent, hence they should be played in the World Cup 2027. He further said that these cricketers should be used properly in future. Afridi also clearly said that whenever the Indian team plays against a weak team, new players should be given a chance and during this time Rohit-Virat should be given rest. But when a team is going to perform up to par then they must come on the field.

Gambhir again targeted

Even when Shahid Afridi and Gautam Gambhir used to play on the field, there used to be a lot of disputes between them. Meanwhile, Afridi has once again targeted Gambhir. He said that during the coaching of the head coach of Team India, it was as if every decision of his was correct. But with time it was proved that your decisions are not right all the time.

Afridi happy with Rohit’s record

Apart from this, Rohit Sharma made the record of hitting most number of sixes in the world, on which Afridi expressed great happiness. He said that records are made only to be broken. He said that I am happy that my record was broken by a player whom I like a lot when I see him playing on the field. Let us tell you that Rohit Sharma had recently broken Afridi’s record of 351 sixes while playing against South Africa and now he has the record of 355 sixes in his name.
