He worked to unite the society by removing discrimination, untouchability and inequality. Chief Minister Saini was speaking at a state level program dedicated to Saint Namdev under the ‘Saint-Great Purush Vichar Samman and Propagation Scheme’. The objective of the scheme is to spread the teachings of saints and great men. Saini said that on the request of the community, a government institution in the state will be named after Sant Namdev Ji Maharaj. He also announced a grant of Rs 51 lakh for the maintenance of various community-run dharamshalas and installation of solar panels. Saini said that Saint Namdev saw divinity in every person and made tireless efforts to eradicate social evils like casteism, untouchability and inequality. True religion unites humanity and teaches compassion towards others.

Benefits of development reach the last person

The Chief Minister also said that Saint Namdev’s message of hard work, dedication and honesty is deeply rooted in the social fabric of Haryana, as the working class, farmers, artisans, tailors, blacksmiths and all hardworking people of the state imbibe his spirit through their dedication and hard work. Saini said that inspired by the teachings of saints and great men, the state government is dedicated to the welfare and upliftment of every section of the society. Its biggest objective is to improve the living standards of the poorest of the poor and ensure that the benefits of development reach the last person. He further said that as the country is moving towards a developed India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the teachings of Saint Namdev become even more important. Saini said that under the guidance of the Prime Minister, the country is moving forward with the mantra of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas’, a vision inspired by the traditions of the saints.

There was no OBC Commission before 2014

He said that following the philosophy of ‘Antyodaya’ of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, the Haryana government is working to economically empower the deprived families through the campaign. Taking a dig at the opposition, the Chief Minister claimed that the OBC Commission did not exist before 2014, when governments used the backward community only for vote bank politics, without ever giving them their due rights. Saini said it was Prime Minister Modi who established the OBC Commission to ensure that members of the OBC community enjoy their rights and representation. He also accused Congress of exploiting the poor by indulging only in vote bank politics. Saini claimed that after the BJP government came to power, both the plot papers and possession were provided, thereby fulfilling a long-pending promise.
