Wankhede Defamation Case: The Delhi High Court on Wednesday issued notice to Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, his production company Red Chillies Entertainment and Netflix India in a defamation case. This notice has been issued on the petition on behalf of IRS officer Sameer Wankhede, in which he has claimed that the web series ‘The Bads of Bollywood’ has misrepresented his image.
What is the whole matter
The first web series of Shah Rukh Khan’s son is made by Red Chillies Entertainment. The mistress of this company is Gauri Khan, wife of Shahrukh Khan. The series was released on Netflix and it shows the image of anti-drug agencies in a negative form. Now Sameer Wankhede alleges that Aryan Khan’s web series shows him and his work wrongly. This has hurt his personal and professional image. Sameer Wankhede has demanded the court to remove this content from all digital platforms and action should be taken against those responsible for this.

Court proceedings
A bench of Justice Purushendra Kumar Kaurav, while hearing the case, has issued notices to Red Chillies Entertainment, Netflix, X Corp, Google, Meta Platforms, RPG Lifestyle Media Private Limited and John Do. The court has asked all the parties to file replies within 7 days. At present, the court has not issued any stay order. The next hearing of this case will be held on 30 October.
Wankhede demand
In his petition, Sameer Wankhede has demanded a compensation of two crore rupees, which he wants to donate to Tata Memorial Cancer Hospital. He said that this web series is an attempt to weaken the public’s trust towards agencies in Law Information. This web series has been made when Aryan Khan Drugs Case is still pending in Bombay High Court and NDPS Special Court.
The matter is special
Sameer Wankhede is the same officer who arrested Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan in the Mumbai cruise drug case in the year 2021. Aryan Khan’s case made a lot of headlines across the country. Now that the matter is in court, in such a situation, there has been a contrast for the Beds of Bollywood series.
