The World’s Youngest Paragliding Pilot: The day of 21 May 2025 will always be remembered in the history of Indian Adventure Sports. 8-year-old Sasha Mangesh Raut of Mumbai, Maharashtra, in the famous Bir-Billing of Himachal Pradesh, flew a 15-minute solo paragliding from a height of 2,459 meters (8,068 ft) and the distinction of becoming the world’s youngest paragliding pilot. This achievement was not only recorded in the High Range World Records, but also became a source of pride and inspiration for the country.
Big flight at a young age
It was not easy to do this feat at the age of only 8 years, 7 months and 17 days. Sasha completed this flight under the supervision of certified trainers, with the Anntgrace Paragliding School. His paragliding journey began with the Indus School of Paragliding at Kamashet, Maharashtra, where he learned the nuances of understanding early training, takeoff-laying technology, and wind trend. Many small solo flights gave a new dimension to his confidence and skills.
Record records
This achievement in paragliding is not his first. Sasha has already become the youngest person to travel on foot to Mount Everest Base Camp. He has also completed a 100 km non-stop cycling challenge. Mountaineering, long -range cycling and now flying in the air, their success in these three regions reflect their stubborn courage and amazing versatility.
Appreciation received from all over the country
After this flight of Sisha, she is being given titles like “Rani of Akash” and “Youth Prerna” on social media. Adventure sports institutions, academics and celebrities have congratulated him. His father, Mangesh Hemant Raut, always preferred his safety, discipline and systematic training, which strengthened Sisha’s confidence even more.
Example for new generation
In today’s digital age, when children are lost in the screen, Sisha’s story reminds us that the real adventure and learning are closer to nature. His achievement gives this message to the youth, “No age, your passion decides how much height you can fly.”
The scope of the dreams of the sky, sea and mountain, Sisha is unlimited. Their flight will teach generations that age is just a number, and the encourage can win any height. In the coming years, perhaps we will see them touching even more heights, because the real journey has just started.
