SC should take cognizance of irregularities in voter list: Uddhav

Maharashtra Politics: Uddhav Thackeray Thackeray said that the Supreme Court should take cognizance of the irregularities in the electoral rolls in Maharashtra. Also, the opposition should unite and raise their voice on this issue.

Maharashtra Politics : In Maharashtra, politics remains at its peak during municipal elections. Here the series of allegations and counter-allegations continues and in this sequence, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray said on Saturday that it has been more than a year since the Leader of Opposition was appointed in the Maharashtra Assembly and he stressed that the LoP of both the Houses should be announced in the upcoming winter session of the Legislature. Apart from this, while talking to the reporter, Thackeray said that the Supreme Court itself should take cognizance of the irregularities in the electoral rolls in Maharashtra and the opposition should unite and tell the top court that until the irregularities are corrected, local body elections should not be conducted.

Opposition leader should be appointed

Apart from this, Uddhav Thackeray said that despite having such a huge majority, why is the government afraid of LoP? The opposition leader should be appointed and we are demanding it. If the government fails to appoint a LoP, it will be the first time in history that a session will be held without a Leader of Opposition. He further said that LoP is a constitutional post and if this post is not appointed then the post of Deputy Chief Minister should also be abolished because it is not a constitutional post. Let us tell you that Shiv Sena (UBT) has the maximum number of 20 MLAs in the opposition and senior MLA Bhaskar Jadhav has been nominated for this post in the Assembly.

SC should take cognizance of election irregularities

After the tenure of Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Ambadas Danve in the Legislative Council ended in August, Congress nominated Satej Patil for this post. Let us tell you that the Supreme Court has ordered that elections should be held in all local bodies by 31st January. Meanwhile, Thackeray said that the apex court should look into the irregularities in electoral rolls. Referring to the allegedly poorly drafted electoral rolls, Thackeray said it could impact the entire election. Taking a dig at the infighting within the Mahayuti government during the first phase of local body elections, Thackeray termed it as greed for power. He said that there is only one hope for the people and that is Shiv Sena (UBT).
