Discussion on Vande Mataram: Today is the second day of discussion on Vande Mataram in Parliament. Apart from the Lok Sabha, there was a discussion in the Rajya Sabha today and during this, Home Minister Shah fiercely targeted the Congress.
Discussion on Vande Mataram : Discussion is going on in both the houses of the Parliament on completion of 150 years of Vande Mataram. The government and the opposition are targeting each other with their statements and are also saying that the national anthem worked to energize the Indians in the ongoing movement against the British rule. In this series, Union Home Minister Amit Shah also expressed his views and targeted the Congress fiercely. He said that when 50 years of Vande Mataram were completed, India was not free. But when the golden jubilee of Vande Mataram happened, Jawaharlal Nehru did the work of dividing Vande Mataram into two parts and limiting it to two parts. 1) Under the leadership of Congress, the singing of Vande Mataram was stopped in this House. In 1992, BJP MP Ram Naik raised the issue of starting singing Vande Mataram again. At that time, Leader of Opposition Lal Krishna Advani told the Speaker of the Lok Sabha that its anthem should be sung in the House. Then in 1992, Lok Sabha started singing Vande Mataram.
2) Shah said that during that time Vande Mataram became the reason for making the country independent and in Amrit Kaal it will become the medium to make the country developed and great.
3) He said that it is the common responsibility of all of us to revive the values of Vande Mataram in the minds of every child, establish it in the minds of the youth and inspire every teenager to live their life on its path.
4) Home Minister told Rajya Sabha that dividing India over ‘Vande Mataram’ song for ‘appeasement politics’ and criticized opposition parties for linking the debate on 150 years of the national anthem with the upcoming West Bengal elections.
5) Initiating the debate in the House, Shah further said that Vande Mataram was the ‘mantra’ that awakened cultural nationalism in India and it is as relevant today as it was during the freedom struggle.
6) Union Home Minister Amit Shah said in Rajya Sabha that when the British imposed many restrictions on Vande Mataram, Bankim Babu had written in a letter that I have no objection if all my literature should be washed away in the Ganga, this mantra Vande Mataram will live for eternity, it will be a great anthem and will win the hearts of the people and it will become the mantra for the reconstruction of India.
7) Shah further said that Vande Mataram awakened a nation which had forgotten its divine power. Vande Mataram did the work of awakening the soul of the nation, that is why Maharishi Arvind said that Vande Mataram is the mantra of India’s rebirth.
8) He said that through this discussion of Vande Mataram in both the Houses, through the glorification of Vande Mataram, through the singing of the glory of Vande Mataram, our children, teenagers, youth and many future generations will understand the importance of Vande Mataram and will also make it a kind of basis for the reconstruction of the nation.
