Karnataka CM Change: Congress is once again struggling with internal strife. There is a tussle going on between Deputy CM Shivkumar and current CM Siddaramaiah for the post of Chief Minister in Karnataka. Shivkumar is continuously insisting on the Congress high command to change the CM. Shivkumar has several times taunted and reminded Congress of its promise of changing the CM. Now Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has said on this issue that he will clear all the confusion by talking.

Senior leaders will hold a meeting

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Thursday said he will call a meeting of senior leaders including Rahul Gandhi, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM DK Shivakumar in New Delhi to discuss the growing issue of leadership in Karnataka. He said the leaders will discuss the way forward and resolve the issue, thus eliminating the “confusion”. Meanwhile, according to official sources, Siddaramaiah held a meeting with senior ministers and leaders considered close to him, including G Parameshwara, Satish Jarkiholi, HC Mahadevappa and K Venkatesh and KN Rajanna, at his residence here.

Shivkumar taunted

Addressing an event, Shivkumar reminded Rahul Gandhi of his promise. He said, ‘There is a saying that the power of words is the power of the world, that is, for us, keeping our promise is the biggest power. Be it a judge, the President of India, me, you or anyone in your family, everyone should respect it. After this Kumar taunted about the CM chair. He further said, ‘Those who are standing behind me do not know the value of the chair. Instead of sitting on whatever chair they find, they stand there unnecessarily. Everyone started laughing at this. Even before this, Shivkumar had reminded Rahul Gandhi of his promise.

Decision may be taken by December 1

As the Congress government reaches the halfway point of its five-year term on November 20, Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar are at loggerheads over “power-sharing”. Shivakumar claims that after winning the assembly elections, a promise was made to change the Chief Minister after two and a half years, while the Siddaramaiah faction is refusing to accept it. Sources say that a decision on the change of power in the Congress party can be taken by December 1. Kharge will find a solution to this fight by discussing with big leaders including Rahul Gandhi, Shivkumar, Siddaramaiah.
