Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party: After Jitan Ram Manjhi angry over seat distribution in Bihar assembly elections, now NDA’s ally Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) in UP has also raised its own tune. Disappointed at not getting a seat, Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party announced on Monday that it will contest elections on 153 seats in Bihar. Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) national general secretary Arvind Rajbhar said that the party will unveil its candidates for Bihar elections at a press conference in Patna on Tuesday. Speaking to journalists on the sidelines of a program in Ballia, Arvind Rajbhar said that SBSP will contest elections on 153 seats in Bihar. The party has been expanding its organization in Bihar for the last 19 years and has been showcasing its strength through various programs. Said that our effort was to strengthen NDA in Bihar also, because we are with NDA in Uttar Pradesh. Rajbhar claimed that the Bihar unit of the BJP provided a negative report about the strength of the SBSP, as a result of which the NDA refused to give them any seats.

waited till sunday

He told that we have been expressing our concerns for a long time. On May 1, 2025, we had informed Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP National President JP Nadda. On May 5, we held a rally in Bihar and told senior BJP leaders that if the alliance is finalized with the NDA, we will fight the elections together. If not, we will contest the elections alone. He further said that the party waited till Sunday to finalize the matter. Rajbhar said that we did not want to make any mistake from our side, so we waited for the decision of the top leadership of NDA. Now we have decided that SBSP will contest elections on 153 seats in Bihar. When asked about possible alliances with other parties, Rajbhar said that efforts have been going on since Sunday. He said that we had received a proposal from Rashtriya Janata Dal to contest elections on five seats, but we have rejected it.

People of BJP and RJD are in touch

He told that he has also spoken to Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and Tej Pratap Yadav. Responding to a question, Rajbhar clarified that SBSP will remain with NDA in Uttar Pradesh and stressed that their focus is not on defeating or winning anyone in Bihar. He further said that no matter who wins or loses, we will collect our votes. The SBSP general secretary also claimed that people who left BJP and Rashtriya Janata Dal are discussing with the party about contesting the elections. Elections will be held in Bihar in two phases on November 6 and 11 and counting of votes will take place on November 14, which will decide the fate of the ruling NDA government led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and the challenge posed by the opposition factions including RJD and Congress. This time in the elections in the politically important state, there is also a third force in the form of Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraj Party. Announcing the programme, Chief Election Commissioner Kumar said that elections for 121 seats of the 243-member assembly will be held on November 6, while the remaining 122 constituencies will go to polls on November 11. Counting of votes will take place on November 14.
