Shubhanshu Shukla and PM Modi Meet: India’s ambitious Gaganyaan Mission is not only attracting the attention of the country, but the whole world. Astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla said in a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi that there is a keen interest in Gaganyaan at the international level and many scientists are keen to join it.

Astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla shared his Axiom-4 mission and experience spent on the International Space Station (ISS). He said that the experience of working and scientific experiment in microgravity was very unique. Shukla said, “Many of my crew members were so excited about the Gaganyaan mission that they took the invitation letter signed by me, so that they could be called to this historic launch of India.”
PM said on Gaganyaan
Prime Minister Modi said in the conversation that Gaganyaan is just the “first step” of India’s space trip. He said, “We have to prepare a strong pool of 40-50 trained astronauts for the future.” Modi described Shukla’s ISS journey as extremely useful for the upcoming missions of India and said that it will help in experiments and space campaigns.
India’s space ambitions
India is moving forward with a big goal in the space sector in the coming years-
- 2027: First Human Space Mission (Gaganyaan)
- 2035: India’s own space station
- 2040: Indian astronaut landing on moon
It is clear from these goals that India is now ready to register a strong presence on the global platform in space politics and technical competition.
