BSP President Mayawati: BSP President Mayawati on Wednesday appealed to the Muslim community to support BSP to defeat BJP. Appealed to the Muslim community to unite and support his party instead of Samajwadi Party and Congress to defeat the destructive politics of BJP in the elections. Mayawati said that despite Muslims voting heavily in favor of SP, the party has failed to defeat BJP. The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief made this comment while presiding over a special meeting of the party’s ‘Muslim Samaj Bhaichara Sangathan’ here. He also issued important instructions to strengthen BSP’s support base among Muslims.
SP-Congress failed to defeat BJP
He said that it has become clear from the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections and many elections held before that that despite full support given by Muslims emotionally, physically and financially, SP and Congress have failed to stop BJP. In contrast, BSP has managed to defeat BJP despite limited Muslim support. In 2007, BSP formed a majority government in the state. Mayawati said that with the unity of the Muslim community, it is necessary to directly support BSP instead of SP and Congress so that the ‘deadly politics’ of BJP can be defeated in the elections. The former Chief Minister alleged that both SP and Congress have historically done anti-Dalit, anti-backward and anti-Muslim politics. He said that BJP has become strong in Uttar Pradesh only because of his wrong policies and activities. He said that not only in the 2022 assembly elections but in almost every election, these parties SP and Congress have adopted every possible trick, including deceit, not to defeat the BJP but to harm the BSP.
Dalits, tribals, backward classes, Muslims are integral parts of BSP
Said that despite getting lopsided Muslim votes, they have failed to stop BJP. The Muslim community should understand this reality as soon as possible. Recalling her tenure as chief minister, Mayawati said that as a party and as a government, the BSP ensured the genuine welfare of Muslims by guaranteeing them safety, security and proper representation at every level. We worked to curb casteism and communalism to a great extent. He said that we made Uttar Pradesh free from riots, exploitation, injustice and fear, whereas the tall claims of other parties have been hollow to a large extent. Mayawati said that lakhs of Dalits, tribals, backward classes, Muslims and other religious minorities are integral parts of BSP’s ‘Bahujan Samaj’. Mayawati also gave details of various works done by her government for the welfare of Muslims during her tenure as Chief Minister.
