The admission process has started for the academic session 2025-26 in the Jai Prakash Narayan Sarvodaya Vidyalayas (formerly Government Ashram Vidyalaya Vidyalaya) run by the Social Welfare Department and Tribal Development Department in the state.
Lucknow: The admission process has started for the academic session 2025-26 in the Jai Prakash Narayan Sarvodaya Vidyalayas (formerly Government Ashram Vidyalaya Vidyalaya) run by the Social Welfare Department and Tribal Development Department in the state. These schools run on Navodaya pattern are recognized by CBSC, where in classes 6, 7, 8, 9 and 11, vacant seats will be selected through entrance examination.
Examination will not have to be given for admission in class 11
Applications can be made by 22 March for admission to Jai Prakash Narayan Sarvodaya Vidyalayas. For this, the entrance examination will be held on 30 March. While the list of successful candidates will be released on 31 March. There will be no examination for admission in class 11, but a merit list will be made based on 10th scores. Village students will get priority in 85% and urban students will get priority in 15% seats. Under reservation, 60% seats will be reserved for Scheduled Caste/Tribe, 25% Other Backward Classes and 15% for general category.
Class 6 and 7 will have 70 seats, while in class 8 and 9, there will be admission according to vacancies. A maximum of 20 students will get admission in class 11. The entire admission process will be under the control of the District Magistrate and the question papers will be constructed and evaluated by DIET. The same process will be applicable in 94 Government Ashram system schools of the state. All the selected students’ classes will start from 1 April 2025. The aim of the state government is that through this examination, meritorious students should get excellent education and equal opportunities should be provided to students of every class.
