SSC takes out bumper vacancy in Bihar, April 21 last date

BSSC Vacancy: Big news for youth. Another bumper recruitment in Bihar, Staff Selection Commission has removed vacancies. After the recent recruitment for Bihar Police Constable and Home Guard, the state has announced another opportunity. Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) has started applications for 682 posts of Junior Statistics Officer and Block Statistics Officer. The application process has started from April 1, 2025 and interested candidates can submit their applications through Bssc.bihar.gov.in by 21 April 2025.

The application fee should be paid online by April 19, 2025 (using credit card, debit card, UPI, net banking etc.). Examination fee can be processed through two banks: SBI and ICICI Bank. While paying the examination fee, the candidates will see the names of both banks, the available payment methods and fee amount. Of the available posts, 313 are unreserved, while 98 are allocated for SC, for 7 ST, 112 MBC, 62 for backward classes, 22 backward class women and 68 for EWS category.

Additionally, 231 posts for women are reserved under horizontal reservation. Selection Criteria: In the selection process, 75 marks will be written for written examination and 25 marks experience. Candidates with contract work experience will be given preference to the same post, in which 5 marks will be given for each year of service, up to a maximum of 35 marks. For partial years, the numerals will be calculated proportionally based on the number of working days, which will be multiplied by 5 and divided by 365.

Age requirements:
– 21 to 37 years for general candidates
– 40 years for general category women
– 40 years for BC/OBC (both male and female)
– 42 years for SC/ST (both male and female)

– Unreserved Category: 40%
– Backward Class: 36.5%
– Scheduled Castes/Tribes: 34%
– Women: 32%
– Disabled (all categories): 32%
– Total Minimum Qualification Points: 32%

Examination Fee:
– General Category/Backward Class/Mercury Candidates: Rs 540
– SC/ST (permanent resident of Bihar): Rs 135

For all disabled categories (similar to SC/ST) – Rs 100.

Women of all categories (applicable only to permanent residents of Bihar) – Rs. 135

Candidates outside Bihar (both men and women) – Rs. 540

Exam pattern
According to Bihar Staff Selection Commission Examination Rules-2010, more than 40,000 applications are expected to come.
There will be preliminary examination after receiving the application. If the number of applications is high, the preliminary examination can be conducted in several stages. If the initial and main examinations are in different stages, the results will be standardized through an equalization process. The preliminary examination will be of objective format. The selection of five times the number of vacancies available in each category will be selected for the main examination. A separate advertisement will be released for the main examination.
