Terrorist Asif Sheikh’s house collapsed in Tral after Pahalgam attack

Pahalgam Terrorist Attack: After the horrific terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir, the security forces took a tough stand and demolished the house of Tral terrorist Mohammad Asif Sheikh. In this attack, 26 people, mostly tourists, were killed. The responsibility of the attack was taken by The Resistance Front (TRF), which is an associate organization of Lashkar-e-Taiba.

Asif Sheikh was actively involved in this attack

Security agencies have identified the terrorists responsible for the attack, in which the name of Tral resident Mohammad Asif Sheikh is prominent. According to sources, Asif Sheikh was actively involved in this attack and had local support. On Thursday, a joint team of the National Investigation Agency and the Jammu and Kashmir Police destroyed it completely by running a bulldozer at his house in Tral.

26 tourists were killed in a terrorist attack on 22 April

On 22 April, the terrorists fired indiscriminately, where the Besaran Valley of Pahalgam, known as ‘Mini Switzerland’. 26 people were killed in this attack, including a Nepali citizen. The terrorists targeted tourists, who came to this beautiful plaintiff to holiday. The attackers allegedly asked the tourists their religious identity and then started firing. This attack shook the entire country and increased the tension between India and Pakistan.

Who is Asif Mohammed?

According to security agencies, Mohammad Asif Sheikh was one of the five terrorists who have been identified for this attack. These include three Pakistani citizens Asif Fauji (aka Musa), Suleman Shah (alias Younus), and Abu Talha (aka Asif) and two local terrorists, Adil Guri and Ahsan,. Asif Sheikh is accused of playing an important role in planning and executing the attack. He allegedly went to Pakistan to train in 2018.

India has taken strict action against Pakistan

The Jammu and Kashmir government has announced an ex-gratia amount of Rs 10 lakh for the families of the deceased and Rs 2 lakh for the seriously injured. At the same time, India suspended the 1960 Indus Water Treaty with Pakistan and ordered Pakistani citizens to leave the country in 48 hours. The action to demolish Asif Sheikh’s house is being considered as part of the government’s ‘zero tolerance’ policy against terrorism. The NIA has also issued sketches of other suspects and the Anantnag police has announced a reward of Rs 20 lakh to give information about the terrorists.
