Terrorist recruitment network busted in Arunachal Pradesh

Itanagar: The Arunachal Pradesh Police has achieved great success by busting the terrorist recruitment network from across the border on Thursday. Police have busted a network associated with recruitment of militants in the state, smuggling arms and cross -border criminal activity. A senior police officer said that the racket was associated with the National Socialist Council for Tainiland (NSCT) and its armed branch United Tani Army (UTA). “Tainland” means the proposed state for the people of the Tani community, mainly a group of tribes living in the northeastern region of the state, especially on the border of Assam. Many groups advocated the construction of “Tainland”. In January, the police took automatic cognizance of threatened videos and letters aired on social media, after which the investigation started. It was allegedly released by NSCT leader Anthony Dokke, who was wanted in 20 cases.

Three boys were taken out from Itanagar to forcibly recruit UTA

The SP said, “Intelligence has confirmed that some of them were involved in an attempt to take a young boy from the Taraso area of ​​Papum Pare district to the terrorist training camp of Myanmar. Used to collect money from contractors for militant campaigns

Singh said that on April 30, the police arrested a person associated with NSCN-KYA, who was engaged in recovering money from contractors for militant operations. During interrogation, the arrested person told about an arms smuggling network in Itanagar, which is related to militant groups in Nagaland.

Itanagar police also recovered unaccounted cash during action

The SP said that after this there were more arrests, weapons and unaccounted cash was recovered. Singh said that a second case was registered at Itanagar police station under sections of BNS, Section 13 of the UAPA and sections of the Arms Act, which targeted the comprehensive network involved in distribution and hiding illegal weapons. He said that during the investigation, the authorities also discovered the relationship between this weapon racket and a drug network operated in the Gohpur-Chimpu corridor near the state capital Itanagar. Two persons were arrested and narcotics were seized during follow -up action.
